The Bear Creek Education Center is a
nonprofit state agency located on the
Bear Creek Reservoir in Hodges, Alabama.
The goal of the center is to provide
quality outdoor and environmental education,
for all ages, at a competitive price. |

| We
are open year round and are popular
with student groups, scouts, church
and civic organizations. We are also
available for business retreats and
family reunions. Our visitors come from
around the Southeast, including Alabama,
Tennessee, Mississippi and elsewhere.

| The
Center also offers comfortable accommodation's
and meals prepared by our staff. Our
rustic dining hall seats 100 and our
two dormitories hold an overall total
of 88. We host day and overnight groups.
Day groups receive one meal, use of
facilities and all programming that
time allows. Overnight groups receive
three meals, use of facilities and the
programming that time allows. |

educational and adventure programs.
Our professional, highly qualified staff
members are responsible for facilitating
all programs. |

| Each
staff member has a bachelor's degree
in the sciences or related fields. Each
staff member is responsible for teaching
the educational programs. Learning programs
include: Trees, birds, aquatic study,
fossils, insects, pioneer history, high
ropes, initiatives, rappelling, spelunking
and canoeing. More programs are being
developed yearly to offer new experiences
for our visitors. |
